Women Around the World To Be Recognized at Event in New York 

ESSEX, Md. — September 17, 2026 — VetEvolve, a community of veterinary practices across the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast, has been named a Stevie® Awards Finalist in five categories in the 23rd annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business. 

VetEvolve was recognized as a Finalist in: 

• Best Female CEO of the Year — Catherine Howell 

• Company of the Year, Consumer Services, More Than 10 Employees 

• Fastest Growing Women-Owned or -Led Company of the Year 

• Achievement in Growth 

• Achievement in Developing and Promoting Women 

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honor the achievements of women executives, entrepreneurs, employees, and the companies they run, worldwide. The Stevie Award has been hailed as the world’s premier business award. 

Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word for “crowned,” the awards will be presented to finalists at a ceremony in New York City on November 16 where Gold, Silver, Bronze and Grand winner placements will be announced. 

More than 400 women and their guests from around the world are expected to attend the presentations, which will be broadcast live. 

More than 1,500 entries from organizations and individuals in 56 nations and territories were submitted this year for consideration in more than 300 categories, including Executive of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Company of the Year, Startup of the Year, Women Helping Women, and Women Run Workplace of the Year. 

“This recognition belongs to our teams,” said Catherine Howell, Chief Executive Officer of VetEvolve. “What I’m most proud of is the recognition for how we develop and promote women. Creating opportunities for talented people to grow into leadership is an important part of who we are, and not only at the executive level. Our senior vice presidents, vice presidents, directors, and managers are predominantly women, as are our practice teams. When we make decisions about how to support the people doing this work, those decisions are being made by women. That matters to me.” 

Founded in 2014 by two Marine Recon veterans, VetEvolve has grown to 55 partner practices and more than 1,200 team members. Women hold 72 percent of leadership positions across the organization, including the roles of Chief Executive Officer and Chief Veterinary Officer and extending through the senior vice president, vice president, director, and practice manager levels. 

The company’s growth has come during a period of contraction across the broader veterinary industry. While service volume declined 3 to 5 percent industry-wide, VetEvolve’s general practices grew 4 to 5 percent. The organization maintains a Net Promoter Score of 90 and 89 percent full-time doctor retention. VetEvolve has been named to the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing private companies three times, most recently in 2026. 

 Gold, Silver, and Bronze Stevie Award finalists were determined based on the average scores of more than 200 business professionals worldwide, serving across seven judging committees.
