Chip Hancock
General Counsel
Chip Hancock is the General Counsel at VetEvolve, where he facilitates veterinary practice acquisitions and manages legal and compliance functions on behalf of the company.
Prior to joining VetEvolve, Chip was a transactional attorney at a large international law firm where he specialized in negotiating and structuring healthcare transactions on behalf of private equity-backed management services organizations. He also advised clients on the applicability of federal and state fraud and abuse laws. Before entering private practice, Chip was a captain in the U.S. Marine Corps and served as a team leader with U.S. Marine Corps Special Operations Command. He earned a Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with combat “V” for service in Ramadi, Iraq.
Chip earned his undergraduate degree from the Virginia Military Institute and earned his law degree from the University of Richmond School of Law. He has been honored for his work; Chip was recognized in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch 2020-2024, and named to the Virginia Business’ Legal Elite list in 2023. Living in Richmond, Virginia, Chip loves to spend time outdoors with his wife, son, and their English Mastiff—Tank.
