VetEvolve is managed by founders, Nick Lodestro and Paul Habenicht, in conjunction with an advisory team. The team includes veterinarians with successful track records in private practice and industry experts with unique backgrounds. VetEvolve is built on integrity, ethics and core values. Since serving together as Marine Corps officers, Nick and Paul have gained the hands-on expertise in business management and leadership required to help improve results at the practice level and, most importantly, to manage in dynamic situations. Our deep industry knowledge is multi-faceted—we access solutions and resources to maximize impact and to stimulate practice growth while upholding the existing values and culture at your practice.
Mr. Lodestro is an engaged leader who infuses passion into his work. With experience managing in austere environments, he skillfully leads with detailed analysis and precise execution. Mr. Lodestro maintains a lifelong focus on self-improvement and driving team-based results.
Mr. Lodestro was an active duty Marine from 2002 to 2007. He is a combat veteran who has received decorations that include the Purple Heart and awards for valor. In 2007, he started a successful sales career in animal health and diagnostics with IDEXX Laboratories. From 2010- 2014, Mr. Lodestro was the Regional Sales Manager for the Capitol Region responsible for overseeing a $38MM book of business and leading a dedicated team of sales professionals specializing in each of the IDEXX strategic business units. He was also responsible for maintaining key customer relationships as well as strategic initiatives such as new reference lab operations in the Baltimore and Washington, D.C. markets.
Mr. Lodestro received his undergraduate in Finance from Penn State and his MBA from Babson College. He is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys volunteering his time to supporting fellow veterans and their families. He lives in Maryland with his wife, Becca, their two children, Macie and Luke, and the family beagles, Molly and JD.
Mr. Habenicht is a hands-on business leader with deep experience leading high-performing teams in various challenging settings. Mr. Habenicht has developed a passion for team building founded on superior execution which has consistently placed him at the top of his peer groups in both military and business settings.
Most recently, Mr. Habenicht worked as a Principal at Frontier Resources Group (FRG), an investment firm focused on operating companies in Africa. At FRG, he conducted diligence, underwrote and managed investments on behalf of the Company’s investors. His primary responsibility was to collaborate with executives and operators to improve companies’ stability. Prior to FRG, Mr. Habenicht worked at the investment bank Edgeview Partners (now Piper Jaffray). There he executed middle-market transactions for financial sponsors and strategic companies. Mr. Habenicht was an active duty Marine from 2002 to 2007, during which he led platoons on three combat deployments.
Mr. Habenicht graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy with a degree in economics. He earned an MBA from the Darden Graduate School of Business at UVA. In his leisure time, Mr. Habenicht enjoys sports, coaching youth lacrosse and spending time outdoors with his German Shepherd Dog, Angus, and his black Labrador, Ginny. Mr. Habenicht lives in Charlotte, North Carolina with his wife, Caroline.
